Online Targeted Advertising
Targeted advertising (or behavioral advertising) uses information collected on an individual’s web or mobile browsing behavior such as the pages they have visited or the searches they have made. This information is then used to select which advertisements should be displayed to a particular individual on websites other than our website. For example, if you have shown a preference for gardening while visiting our website, you may be served an advertisement for gardening related websites when you visit a site other than our website. RouteHive may disclose your Personal Information to our provider(s) providing us targeting advertising services. The information collected about our Users by such service providers in this regard is only linked to an anonymous cookie ID (alphanumeric number); it does not include any information that could be linked back to a particular person, such as their name, address or credit card number. The information used for targeted advertising either comes from us or through third party website publishers.
If you would like to opt out of targeted advertising from us that occurs when visiting our third party advertising publishers, please click here to access the NAI Opt-Out Page. Please note that this will opt you out of targeted ads from RouteHive and any other participating advertisers. If you opt out, you may continue to receive online advertising from us; however, these ads may not be as relevant to you.
In order for behavioral advertising opt-outs to work on your Device, your browser must be set to accept Cookies. If you delete Cookies, buy a new Device, access our Services from a different device, login under a different screen name, or change web browsers, you will need to opt-out again. If your browser has scripting disabled, you do not need to opt out because online behavioral advertising technology does not work when scripting is disabled. Please check your browser’s security settings to validate whether scripting is active or disabled.
Additionally, many network advertising programs allow you to view and manage the interest categories they have compiled from your online browsing activities. These interest categories help determine the types of targeted advertisements you may receive. The NAI Opt-Out Page provides a tool that identifies its member companies that have Cookies on your browser and provides links to those companies.
Google Analytics. RouteHive has implemented Google Analytics Display Advertising, including Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, the DoubleClick Cookie and/or Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting in connection with our Online Targeted Advertising.
RouteHive uses Google’s Remarketing tools to target and determine interest categories, audiences for interest-based advertising, demographic and location targeting. RouteHive and third-party vendors, including Google, show RouteHive’s ads on sites across the Internet and we and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics Cookie) and third-party Cookies (such as the DoubleClick Cookie) together to target and serve ads based on someone’s past visits to our website, to gather information about the success of ad impressions and our Users’ interactions with ad impressions, measure and research the effectiveness of RouteHive’s features, offerings, advertisements, and email communications (by determining which emails you open and act upon) and other uses of ad services related to visits to our site. RouteHive also will use data from Google’s Analytics Display Advertising or 3rd-party audience data (such as age, gender and interests) within Google Analytics to target interest based advertising to visitors of our site.
In addition to NAI Opt-Out Page our Users can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising using Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or Google Analytics’ currently available opt-outs for the web.
RouteHive will not facilitate the merging of your personally-identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information previously collected from Google’s Display Advertising features based on the DoubleClick Cookie without robust notice of, and the user’s prior affirmative (i.e. opt-in) consent to, that merger. We also will not run interest-based advertising campaigns that collect our Users Personal Information including, but not limited to, email addresses, telephone numbers and credit card numbers. We will not use or associate your Personal Information with remarketing lists, Cookies, data feeds or other anonymous identifiers. We will not use or associate targeting information, such as demographics or location, with any Personal Information collected from the ad or its landing page(s). We will not send Google precise location information without obtaining your consent. We will not share any of our User’s Personal Information with Google through our remarketing tag or any product data feeds, which might be associated with our ads.
We will not use any Google’s Analytics products to select or target interest-based advertisements, collect or use audience data such as Cookie lists, or create remarketing lists based on, or have ad content imply knowledge of, your Personal Information or other of your sensitive information, including without limitation, information related to children under the age of 13 years, users on adult, gambling, or government agency sites or apps, or other inferred or actual sensitive information like your health or medical history, negative financial status, racial, ethnic origins or sexual behavior or orientation, religious or political beliefs (other than the public registration information of United States voters), criminal record, or trade union membership.
